VT Digger Critique
When i first went to the site i noticed right away the heading. It is just the name of the site, but is nice and big so you cant miss it. The overall layout of the site is very nice and easy to figure out. They have sections on the right side almost like the sections of a newspaper. On the left is mostly stuff about the site and how they get money ect.
Their business model is a non-profit business model. This means they make no money and get all their funds from donations sponsorships and grants. The site is free right now but someday they hope to have certain special sections that you would have to pay a small fee for. They have gotten a few grants so far and are working on raising more money.
Most of the stories seem to well written and kept my attention. One in particular that caught my eye was one about the mind and everyone's stress levels and emotional happiness. It was a very interesting story. There seemed to be a few stories dealing with philosophy and things like that. Those are things that interest me so i would probably visit this website often. I think it would be a great idea to do a multimedia project for this website.

Student "cries wolf" on sexual assualt
Blurb- Alleged sexual assault turns out to be a fake
Early Tuesday morning around 1:00 a.m. a sexual assault was reported by a student. The report said that a unidentified male had climbed through an open window in Stonehenge. There was no details of what the suspect looked like or any witnesses. After investigating further the report turned out to be false.
When the call went out tuesday night Public safety responded immediately. They sent out two officers, two student officers and contacted the RHD on duty. The state police were also notified and they sent three officers and a canine to search the area. They also sent four detectives to start the investigation.
After being investigated by the police the report was confirmed as false. President Carol Moore promptly sent out an e-mail to assure everyone that there was no assault and the campus was secure. Director of public safety George Hacking confirmed this and went on to say that charges would be filed against the student.
Hacking felt that students should know the report was false and that, " we are as safe today as we were before the report came in." He went on to say that public safety knows there are ways to get into the buildings if you really want to. He also said that it then becomes students responsibilities to shut and lock windows and doors.
Public safety will be stepping up their patrols of Stonehenge and are trying to learn from the incident. They would like anyone that sees someone prop open the door or leave a window open to report them.
